Android Touchscreen Support
Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a Le Potato but first I want to know if the Android OS supports driverless HDMI+USB touchscreens like this one. If you've tried using one before, can you tell me whether it works? Does the OS support touch gestures like scrolling and zooming?
Your help would be appreciated.

I'm using this LCD also, but display output is not working with the preview images (Libre/Android, Libre/Ubuntu and Armbian).
I think the touch driver should be supported since the Rev2.1 display implements the standard HID protocol. It seems that we have to wait for the developers until they support resolutions like 1024x600.
Thanks for your reply. Does the Android image work on a regular HDMI display though? Is it just this display's 1024x600px resolution that's not supported yet?
Unfortunately I don't have another HDMI monitor here, there are only DVI&VGA displays without any adapter. Maybe anyone else?
I would say it's this specific resolution and some other non-standards which do not work at the moment (for Ubuntu we will have to wait for wayland support), but you could try kszaq's LibreELEC (http://forum.loverpi.com/discussion/17/libreelec#latest) and play with the HDMI presets in the boot.ini config or wait and hope for another preview
I have a 7" 1024x600 HDMI touchscreen it works on android on other sbc I have
but not on my le potato yet, both are preview versions of android so are limited
on what can install
@jeepthing, can you tell me which sbc you're using? I might consider using that instead.
a Tinkerboard since I'm used to ASUS motherboards
Thanks. Just to clarify, does android on the tinker board support touch gestures like scrolling and zooming, and does it include a virtual keyboard like on a normal android phone/tablet?
yes , but I usaly use a wireless keyboard , its a preview version
so there is no play store etc
I see. Thanks for your info
