Does not boot into Linux from USB

I've been trying to boot my La Frite from USB using the only image I can find (http://share.loverpi.com/board/libre-computer-project/libre-computer-board/image/debian/?fbclid=IwAR07awNoLx5K4gkoG33WMse9Sk_wrHth62blHCmQTvGV_PGhbaF_hpHKxuY) but it gets to loading Linux kernel, and reboots again.  Anyone know why this is happening?

  • I tried a different USB stick, and that worked!
I would like to know how to boot using PXE too.
  • I had problems booting off the first stick I used. It appeared to boot, but then didn't get to a login prompt, just system messages writing to the screen. I was able to SSH in but the FS was read only so couldn't do much.
I re-wrote the image (just double clicking in Linux mint!) To a different stick (new style san disk cruzer fit. The all plastic one not the older metal one) and it booted like a champ!
  • Are there instructions someplace that say how to do this?

TL;DR if it won’t boot try a different USB drive

I had problems using a Kingston DataTraveler G4 8GB USB 3.0 stick.  It has a fresh “cleaned” partition table (as I sometimes do multiboot stuff with my usb storage). It has been tested for bad sectors.

Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic) XFCE 6-July-2019 image - was written with Win32DiskImager. At first boot screen was tossing errors and warnings about “GPT:Alternate GPT header not at the end of the disk” I checked partitioning and the omg file did not use all the usb drive disk space (there was unallocated space).  I followed the suggestion on screen to use GPT Parted, and resized the last partition to include the unallocated disk space. Then tried again, and it still wouldn’t boot - sorry didn’t record where it hung.

Tried a Lexar LJDS50-8GB - booted out of box.
