DPMS / power saving / partner acceptance factor

I am (until the LaFrite(s) becomes more of a daily runner) using Raspberry Pi's, and use certain functions/apps to do power saving and partner annoyance prevention.

Does anyone know how to do any of the following with the LaFite/S_05x:
  • Turn off the screen (would run vcgencmd display_power 0 / 1) ?
  • Turn off the LED's (or turn them down)
Thanks

  • If I'm interpreting the board schematics correctly, there is no practical way to turn the LEDs off, or down. They are wired to the power-supply rails (with current-limiting resistors in series, of course) rather than to GPIOs, and they are not under software control. You'll need the moral equivalent of a lampshade, I'm afraid.

Thanks. I'll revert to good old black electrical tape (current solution for IR receiver as well).
As for screen power off, the LibreElec mages in the forum so far, support that in the power saving section --  so that is a win compared to finding/running pimon screensaver on raspberry.

One day these units may start living in the rooms. So far I am liking them, but still a lot of work to go before they will be the norm in the house.
  • For La Frite, we put both LEDs on in the first batch so users can select the color by removing the un-needed LED. This will be eliminated in the future. There's no enough GPIOs on the SoC.
